PEMBROKE AREA, NC (WBTW) – One person is dead after a car overturned in a canal in Robeson County.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, troopers investigated the crash on Recreation Center Drive outside of Pembroke on Sunday.
A 1996 Chevrolet passenger car was traveling north on Recreation Center Drive, when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a canal, and overturned. One person was trapped inside the car, which was covered in water.
NCHP identified the person who died as Victoria June McCormick, 22, of Maxton.
