MURRELLS INLET, SC – Students from St. James High School will host the 2nd Fields of Faith event at Shark Stadium on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Gates will open at 5:45pm with the event to begin at 6:30pm. A free T-shirt will be given to the first 800 students through the gate.
From all over Horry County, students, athlete teams, coaches, and youth groups will join thousands of other youth on athletic fields all across our nation on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. The St. James event will be 1 of more than 500 locations throughout the entire nation all on the same evening. Fields of Faith is a student-to-student ministry. Peers invite their own classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies. An athletic field provides a neutral, interdenominational rally point where a community can come together.
Over 1,000 students, athletic teams, and youth groups attended last year’s 1st time event, giving away over 500 free T-Shirts. The Fields of Faith Leadership Team is praying for over 2,000 to attend this year’s event.
The widely sought after Glenn Walters, CEO of Shabbach Youth Conferences, will be the Adult Impact Speaker for this year’s Fields of Faith Rally. Shabbach Youth Conferences stretch up and down the East Coast, ministering to over 4000 youth of multi-denominations and church backgrounds. Glenn is not only a high energy speaker, he is also a singer/songwriter, leadership trainer, and author of the book The Student Body.
Food vendors will be available prior to the event. Area teams are encouraged to wear their team jerseys…The team with the most members in attendance, in their team jerseys, will win the Fields of Faith Trophy and bragging rights for a year!
The national growth of Fields of Faith has been remarkable. Since the beginning of Fields of Faith in 2004, more than a million people have joined the movement. In 2015 alone, more than 189,000 students gathered on 526 fields to participate in the event.
It’s not just those numbers that have FCA organizers excited about Fields of Faith. It’s the students stepping into leadership roles as well as the real-life impact that these gatherings have on young people. Last year’s series of events saw nearly 6,000 students make first-time faith commitments to follow Jesus Christ; 6,647 recommitted their life to Christ and 7,376 committed to reading the Bible daily.
While Fields of Faith has its roots with FCA leadership, the event is designed to include multiple national Christian organizations, local churches and ministries. Everyone is invited.
