MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – St. James Elementary School in Murrells Inlet hosted its annual Leadership Day for fifth graders Thursday.

More than 30 parents and community members volunteered with teachers and staff for a day of problem-solving games and team-building activities.

The goal is to help the children learn to become independent as they continue their school careers and beyond.

“If we as a team can pass that along them we’re making the world a better place. We’re making St. James a better place. and therefore those kids are making the world a better place. That’s all it is, choosing to make things better,” Lesa Carlisle said.
