LUMBERTON, NC – Southeastern Hospice will host its annual Spring Fling event-this year themed Fashion Forward-on Tuesday, May 3, at Osterneck Auditorium across from the public library in Downtown Lumberton. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and shopping for unique graduation, Mother’s Day and wedding gifts. A fashion show by Sisters’ Boutique and a live auction will follow starting at 7 p.m. All funds from the event will benefit Southeastern Hospice’s in-home patients and families as well as those at Southeastern Hospice House. Profits will also assist with Camp Care, a day-long bereavement experience for youth trying to cope with the death of a loved one. “Swing for Good Health” golf tournament

Golfers playing in Southeastern Health Foundation’s annual golf tournament on Thursday, May 5 at Pinecrest Country Club will support local health care while having fun. All proceeds from the tournament will fund medical, nursing and allied health scholarships for students who plan to work locally after their training is complete. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. The tournament format is SuperBall/Captain’s Choice. Cost is $75 per person. The fee includes mulligan and ladies’ tees, cart, refreshments, lunch and prizes. A silver sponsorship is $125 and includes publicity and corporate recognition. A gold sponsorship is $250 and includes entry fees for two players and corporate recognition. Open house/garden party

Southeastern Health will host an open house, ribbon cutting and garden party on the grounds of WoodHaven Nursing, Alzheimer’s and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, May 9 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The event will mark the opening of the Southeastern Rehabilitation WoodHaven short-term rehab wing as well as WoodHaven’s Garden Path to Healing garden on the grounds. A ribbon cutting will be held in conjunction with the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce at 3:30 p.m. at the rear entrance to the facility. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the short-term rehab wing will include artwork by local children as part of the Robeson County Arts Council’s Wee the Little People project. The garden party will include of live music, tea and lemonade.

Gibson Cancer Center Open House

Southeastern Health will host an open house at Gibson Cancer Center (GCC) on Wednesday, May 25 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. The event will mark the grand re-opening of the entire center following a fire in June 2015 that severely damaged its radiation oncology wing and required the temporary relocation of its medical oncology unit.
