LUMBERTON, NC –  Southeastern Health has several support groups, seminars and other events planned for February.Adult Bereavement Support Group

Southeastern Hospice will host an Adult Bereavement Support Group for adults experiencing grief due to the loss of loved one through death.  The support group is open to the public.  The group will meet starting on Tuesday, Feb. 2 beginning at 3 p.m.  Meetings will last approximately 90 minutes and will be held in the conference room at Southeastern Hospice House, 1100 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC.  The group will meet for four consecutive Tuesdays, ending on Feb. 23.  For more information, please contact Rev. Weight loss seminar

Dr. Eric Velazquez will host a seminar on a variety of weight loss surgery options including adjustable gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Southeastern Weight Loss Center located within the Southeastern Health Mall on the campus of Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton. Southeastern Health’s Community Health Education Center, or C.H.E.C., will host an open house and ribbon cutting in conjunction with the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 pm. The center moved to its new location beside Shoe Show and across from EyeWorks in Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton in early January. The center was previously located across from the Biggs Park Mall office. Southeastern Health Heart and Vascular will host their 9th annual Take it Heart: Red Dress Luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 13. The event will take place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Robeson County Fairgrounds in Lumberton. A heart healthy lunch will be served along with blood pressure and BMI calculations, peripheral vascular disease screenings, and booths supporting women’s health and fitness. There will also be giveaways, door prizes and voting on Red Dress designs by Robeson County high school students. The event is $5 per person and the deadline to RSVP is February 5.
