MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) – South Carolina, ranked 19th nationally, won the 54-hole General Hackler Championship event with a score of 841 on Sunday at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. Virginia, ranked 24th, was runner-up with a score of 848.

The Coastal Carolina men’s golf team shot a 294 in the final round and improved to finish in a tie for 12th with a three-round score of 890. The Chanticleers were led by Alfredo Ruiz. The junior posted a final round, even par 72 – posting three bogeys and three birdies – to move up four spots into a tie for 31st.
