The South Carolina Senior Sports Classic began Thursday.
It is a recreation experience for adults 50 and over. These are the Olympic Games for the senior citizens of South Carolina.
The 2015 South Carolina Senior Sports Classic will be held May 19 – 23 in Florence on the campus of Francis Marion University.
This marks the 31st year that the games have been held in Florence.
The 2015 games are open to participants from other states.
If someone from North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida or Virginia could not make their state’s games, they can come to Florence and qualify during the South Carolina games.
The 2015 games expect to attract over 400 seniors from all over South Carolina and the southeast.
