South Carolina interchange named after boy killed in upstate shooting

TOWNVILLE, SC (WBTW) South Carolina transportation leaders honored the six year old boy killed in last month’s shooting at an upstate elementary school.

The DOT Commission passed a resolution to rename the I-85 and SC-24 interchange in Anderson County the “Jacob L. Hall Memorial Interchange”.

“I very proudly make a motion that I trust will be a good memorial for this young man and also bring some healing to that community.” DOT Commissioner Ben Davis said.

A plaque was also added to the “Heroes for Higher” Batmobile in honor of Jacob.

The young boy was a big fan of super heroes and “Batman” spoke at his funeral.

The “Batmobile” is scheduled to make a special appearance at the Townville Christmas Parade in December.
