The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) plans closure of Dick Pond Road for mechanical repairs to Socastee drawbridge.
Dick Pond Road at the Socastee drawbridge will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. from Tuesday, July 19 through Friday, Aug. 12, while the South Carolina Department of Transportation makes mechanical repairs to the bridge. There may also be extended times when the road closure is necessary.
Bridge openings will be scheduled on the hour during the day with the channel open all night (7 p.m. until 7 a.m.).
Message Boards will be placed at several locations notifying motorist to take an alternate route during this period.Information above is from a submitted press release.
