The Myrtle Beach Police Department has identified a suspect in multiple vehicle break-ins that occurred in the Market Common area.
Jerrett Nelson Leary was arrested in connection to several of those break-ins. He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals working with the Myrtle Beach police, on Thursday. Leary is 26-years-old from Socastee.
A judge set his bond at $420,000 dollars for first-degree burglary and 11 counts of breaking and entering.
Investigators tell us that Leary has stolen from cars before in the Market Common. He was arrested in 2016 and 2018 for breaking into vehicles there.
Leary’s next scheduled court date is July 12.
Police say that vehicle burglaries are often crimes of opportunity. They would like to remind residents and visitors to always lock your cars as several of the vehicles involved were unlocked at the time.
