MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Socastee home was badly damaged by a fire Wednesday morning, according to Battalion Chief Brian Van Aernem with Horry County Fire Rescue.
Van Aernem says firefighters were called to a two-story home on Menlo Park Lane just off of Highway 707 around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Heavy flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the home when fire crews arrived.
The siding of a neighboring home was damaged, says Van Aernem, but no one was injured.
Fire officials have not commented on what caused the fire.
