SOCASTEE, SC –  A community assistance day will be held for those impacted by Hurricane Matthew and subsequent flooding on Thursday, October 27, from 12:00 Noon until 7:00 pm at Socastee Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall), located at 3690 Socastee Blvd, Myrtle Beach.  Several government agencies and organizations from around the  community assist those impacted by recent weather events.

CONFIRMED PARTICIPANTS:

*Federal Emergency Management Agency

Will be onsite to answer questions and assist with registration for FEMA assistance.

*Small Business Administration

Will be onsite to answer questions regarding the SBA and resources they can provide.

*United States Senator Lindsey Graham’s Office

Will be onsite to answer questions and assist with navigating federal assistance programs.

*SC Department of Insurance

Will be onsite to answer insurance related questions.

*SC Department of Employment and Workforce

Will be onsite to answer questions regarding possible temporary unemployment benefits due to the disaster.

*SC Department of Social Services

Will be onsite to assist with possible replacement SNAP benefits due to the disaster and answer questions.

*The Salvation Army

*The American Red Cross

*Your Sister’s Closet

*Help4Kids / Backpack Buddies of Horry County

Food will be provided for attendees from 12:00 Noon – 2:00pm & again from 5:00pm – 7:00pm courtesy of AJ’s Pizza of Myrtle Beach. Coffee & donuts will also be available throughout the day.
