Socastee, SC (WBTW) – The Socastee boys soccer team has gone 40-0 in region play over the last 4 seasons and features future Clemson player Chris Matlashewski.

THE SOCASTEE BOYS SOCCER SEASON MAY HAVE STARTED BUMPY WITH A LOSS AND A TIE OUT OF THE GATE BUT THE TEAM IS RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT TO BE AHEAD OF TUESDAYS PLAYOFF GAME AGAINST SUMMERVILLE—

“I told them at the beginning of the year I don’t want to talk about championships, I don’t want to talk about records. All i care about is you guys coming together and be buds, be family and play together, get that chemsitry and that happened forrunetly after those first couple bumps in the road.”

THE TEAM WENT ON AN IMPRESSIVE RUN, FINISHING THE SEASON WITH 17 WINS AND AS A SENIOR CLASS WENT UNDEFEATED IN REGION PLAY. A PERFECT 40 AND 0.

“I mean that means a lot. I mean we kind of talk about how our region isn/’t the best but I mean it’s still pretty impressive to go all four years without losing.”

TOUGH TO MENTION IMPRESSIVE FEATS AND NOT BRING UP CHRIS MATLASHEWSKI THE CLEMSON COMMIT HAS OVER 110 CAREER GOALS AND IS THE KEY TO MAKING THIS MACHINE GO BUT FOR CHRIS THIS IS NOT ABOUT INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

“I mean we have huddles before every game and I say like look at the people beside you. You play for them, not for yourself so play for your teammates because it’s pretty much like a second family. So I mean especailly in the playoffs cause it’s survive and advance.”

THE BRAVES HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE MAKING IT TO THE STATE SEMIS AND THE QUARTERFINALS TWICE IN THE PAST BUT WILL KEEP THEIR FOCUS ON TUESDAYS MATCHUP

“Yeah I mean well Tuesday is the first round and that’s it right there. If you don’ win the first one then you don’t get a second one. So it’s completly single elimination so we can not look ahead.”
