WARE SHOALS, SC- Five snakes have been found at Ware Shoals High School over the past ten days according to the school district.
The superintendent of Ware Shoals School District 51 confirms – in an email to 7 News – that what appear to be non-poisonous rat snakes or king snakes were found. The superintendent says the snakes are small, between six and eight inches in length.
A local pest control company came to the campus and spread materials to control the problem. Two snakes were found in a classroom on Monday.
Superintendent Fay Sprouse says additional measures were taken by the school maintenance staff to seal up cracks and crevices.
Photos of the snakes were posted by a student on Facebook who didn’t want to be identified.
