SPARTANBURG, SC – Chaser the Border Collie will return home soon after being treated at UGA Animal hospital, according to Chaser’s Facebook page.
The Facebook page says her immune system is coming back after doctors think she got immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) caused by a tick bite.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information says IMHA can cause anemia in dogs.
Chaser has gotten national attention as having one of the largest vocabularies of any dog.
She knows more than 1000 nouns.
She belongs to John Pilley, a former professor at Wofford College in Spartanburg.
