SPARTANBURG, SC – A skull that was found November 27, 2015 in Berkeley County has been identified as a Spartanburg woman.

Nicole Goodlett, mother of three children, was 28 years old when she was reported missing on March 12, 2014.

Goodlett’s skull was found near the Cainhoy Elementary School on Cainhoy Road, according to the Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office says her skull was found by a hunter.

Her skull was examined by a Forensic Anthropologist and she was identified by DNA sample in March, according to Coroner Salisbury.

The Sheriff’s Office says they have about 10 investigators in the low country searching for additional clues and remains.

The anthropologist couldn’t determine the cause of death and no trauma was found on the skull.

An investigation is underway by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office.

The boyfriend and father of Goodlett’s children has remained a person of interest in the case since 2014, but no warrants have ever been signed.
