Six people have filed to run for an Horry County Council seat that will be filled through a special election this summer.
The following people filed as of the noon deadline on Monday, according to Horry County Director of Voter Registration and Elections:

Cam Crawford
Blaine Garren
Kirk Hanna
Cary Rowell
Chris Stephens
All of the candidates are Republicans, Martin said.
They are running for Horry County’s 6th District. Bob Grabowski previously served in that seat. He died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on March 31.
A run-off date for the election is set for June 30. Martin said she expects a runoff will be needed. After that, the general election date is August 4.
