Officials with the South Carolina Department of Transportation said the hole was first spotted Tuesday afternoon near the Darlington Fire Department on Orange and Wells Street.  The hole was about 2 foot-wide in size.

When SCDOT crews opened it up Tuesday morning, they found a ruptured drainage pipe.

Crews repaired the pipe and should have the road in that area opened by Wednesday afternoon.
