Saturday, Sweet Cup employees were hesitant to return to work after a strong armed robbery where the suspect is still on the loose.

On her first day of work, Jana Cardinale says she was nervous to show up after hearing what happened the day before.

However, she did not let her nerves get the best of her.

“Something told me to come. I needed a job,” she said.

It was not just rookies like Cardinale who were hesitant.

“I was scared to come in,” said Sidney Cooper. “What if it happens again,” she added.

Cooper has been working at Sweet Cup for two weeks, which might not seem like a lot but it is almost as long as the stores been open.

The store is so new it still has its “Grand Opening” sign out front and it just got some very important equipment; security cameras.

“They were installed two days ago and the following day they had an incident,” said Assistant Manager Elizabeth Kountz.

Kountz says the cameras were able to catch the whole incident.

But because they were just installed Georgetown County Police had to bring their own screen to play back the video because the store did not have a monitor for the security system yet.

Kountz says the important thing is they were able to get the images to police whatever way possible.

As well, everyone was able to come back to work the next day.

“They’ll probably never forget what happened, but nobody got hurt and we’re able to resume with the business,” she said.

Police tell news 13 the suspect may be in a red, older model pickup truck.

Witnesses say he is about 6’2, and thin, with a black tattoo on the back of his right hand.
