According to Major Anthony Thompson, Columbus County deputies found a woman on NC Highway 410 in Chadbourn who claimed she was kidnapped. Columbus County deputies called the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, and asked them to go to the woman’s house in Proctorville.

Thompson says when deputies got there around 4:30 Thursday morning, they saw a vehicle in front of the home, but nobody would answer the door. Deputies say they looked in the window, and saw a man lying in the bed with gunshot wounds.

Deputies say they entered the home, and found that the man was dead.

The victim is identified as 23-year-old Gary Wayne Bisbee, Jr. of Lumberton.

The woman told deputies that she lived at the home, and Bisbee came to visit. She said they were in bed, when two men came into the home, shot Bisbee, and forced her at gunpoint to drive her car to Columbus County. She says they made her get out of the car, and drove away.

Thompson says the car is a white, four door 2005 Honda Accord with North Carolina license plate PBV-6971. He says there man be several men inside the car.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
