FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) – Major Mike Nunn, with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, says a two-county vehicle pursuit ended with the suspect running from the scene.

Nunn says it started in Darlington County around 2 p.m. Saturday.  He says the vehicle in question was reported missing from Richland County.

Nunn says Darlington County authorities initiated the pursuit that entered into Florence County.  In Florence County, Florence County deputies got involved.

Nunn says the pursuit continued on US 52 into Lake City.  He says the suspect’s car crashed into a power pole and the suspect ran from the scene.

Nunn says Florence deputies set up a perimeter and used K9s to search, but the search for the suspect was suspended at dark.

Nunn says there’s no reason to believe the public is danger, but the suspect is not in custody.
