HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) –  Horry County Police is asking for your help searching for a missing man.

Robert Hudgins is 27, but he is intellectually challenged. His mother Tracy Peele said he is at a Kindergarten learning level and cannot read.

Peele said she last saw her son at around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

“He’s like, I’m going to go walk around the block mama and I said ok and I figured he’ll be back about 2 a.m. or so. He does that all of the time,” she said

According to Peele, it’s not uncommon for Hudgins to go on a late night walk. While he is intellectually challenged, she said he knows right from wrong and can take care of himself at home alone. Peele also said he knows family member’s phone numbers and it is unlike him not to call.

Police say a witness spotted Hudgins Sunday around 7:30 p.m. at Wendy’s in Aynor. The location is about 10 miles away from his home on Ashlyn Creek Drive in Conway.

“He’s never walked that way before,” said Peele.

Peele printed out hundreds of flyers on Tuesday with the hope that someone recognizes him and brings him back safely.

Hudgins left home wearing a black leather jacket, a white pinstriped shirt, and navy blue slacks.  He is 5 ft. 11 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He has blue eyes, sandy blonde hair, and a mustache.

Anyone with information about Robert’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Police Department at 843-248-1520 or the Tip Line at 843-915-TIPS (8477).
