LAURINBURG, NC (WBTW) – The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that a man accused of indecent liberties with a minor was transported to the Scotland County Detention Center.
According to Sheriff Ralph Kersey, on Oct. 4, investigators obtained warrants for two counts of Indecent Liberties with a minor on 45-year-old Edward Randell Smith.
The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office provided Pitt County Sheriff’s Office with a possible address where Smith was living and Smith was arrested on on Oct. 8 by deputies with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff says Smith received a $25,000.00 secured bond. Booking records show Smith was transported back to Scotland County Sheriff’s Office and placed in the Scotland County Detention Center on Oct. 15.
