LAURINBURG, NC (WBTW)- On Monday Scotland County Sheriffs arrested a man in connection with an illegal prescription pill case.
Officers received a tip that Clarence Smith had attempted to obtain a controlled substance from a Laurinburg pharmacy. The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office set up a traffic stop and during a field interview with Smith found 90 doses of Oxycodone Hydrochloride in someone else’s name.
Smith was charged with trafficking Schedule II narcotics, obtaining prescription medication by fraud and maintaining a vehicle. He was taken to the Scotland County jail and placed under a $100,000 bond.
