SCHP involved in chase with stolen car that ends in North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol were involved in a chase after officers saw a person in a stolen car.

Horry County spokesperson Lisa Bourcier says the car chase started around 6:00pm at 34th Avenue and Poinsett. Bourcier says the suspect purposely backed into and Horry County Police cruiser.

Jay Fernandez, NMB Director of Public Safety says the chase ended in the Windy Hill area of North Myrtle Beach.

The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody. The car has been reported stolen.

Officers involved were not injured. Count on News13 to keep you covered.
