CHESTERFIELD, S.C. (WBTW) – According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol one person is dead after a head-on collision in Chesterfield County Saturday night.
Lance Corporal Gary Miller says the crash happened on Highway 52 and 4 Mile Loop Road north of Cheraw around 8:20 Saturday night.
Troopers say the driver of a 2004 Chevy Impala was traveling south on the U.S. 52 while the driver of a 2008 Dodge Magnum was traveling north.
SCHP says the driver of the Dodge was traveling in the wrong lane and hit the Impala head-on. Troopers say the driver of the Impala died in the crash. Troopers say the other driver sustained injuries from the crash and was taken to McLeod Hospital in Florence.
SCHP says both drivers had on seat belts. The crash is under investigation.
