The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it pulled over a 12-year-old at the wheel of a pickup truck Thursday in Marion County.
Cpl. Sonny Collins says a trooper spotted the pickup truck and stopped it on US-501 near Jay Road around 1:15 p.m. He says someone called the agency to report a reckless driver in Marion County.
During the stop, Collins says troopers found two weapons inside of the vehicle. The Marion County Department of Juvenile Justice took the boy into custody.
WTVR in Richmond, VA, tells News13 Prince George County Police confirmed the pickup truck belonged to the young boy’s father.
