CHARLESTON, SC – A woman is recovering in the hospital after her boyfriend shot her in the head yesterday evening, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 1400 block area of Hazel Road to investigate reports of a shooting.
Authorities say Ralph Gilliard was arguing with his girlfriend when he shot her in the head.
She was transported to MUSC by EMS and is currently in stable condition.
Deputies located the weapon and have charged Ralph Gilliard with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime.
His bond hearing was held earlier this morning and he was granted bond totaling $550,000.
