The Lauren’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burning incident that happened on Friday, July 17th.
The Sheriff’s Office says Angela Nicole Berry is accused of setting a sleeping man on fire inside a home in Laurens. Deputies tell us that warrants are being written up for attempted murder and arson.
When deputies responded to the scene, the victim was found with severe burns and looked like his skin “had been melted off his body.” Berry was not at the scene.
He was airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment.
Berry later returned to the scene and deputies took her into custody. She is currently being questioned.
Her bond hearing will be held at 4 p.m. today.
