LAURENS, SC – A Laurens woman is under arrest Tuesday after the sheriff’s office says she led deputies on a chase for the second time in a little more than a month.
Kay Marie Thomason, 29, is charged with failure to stop for a blue light by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. We’re told she will face additional charges.
A LCSO spokesperson says Thomason followed a deputy’s car closely on Highway 76 Monday night, which led to a traffic stop. We’re told Thomason drove off and that started the pursuit.
It ended when Thomason crashed her car in Clinton after reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour during the chase. The sheriff’s spokesperson says she spat on the deputies while she was taken into custody.
She is scheduled to have a bond hearing at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The State Law Enforcement Division tells us Thomason was charged for failure to stop for a blue light in Laurens County on January 7. She was also charged with driving under the influence by Clinton Police on February 2.
