SC teacher arrested after inappropriate Snapchat exchange

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCBD) — Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies and members of the South Carolina ICAC Task force arrested a Lowcountry teacher under criminal solicitation charges.

“On November 20, 2016, the parent of a 13-year-old victim reported to the Sheriff’s Office that Bradley Mea coerced the victim into sending multiple nude photographs and videos of her through the social media platform known as ‘SnapChat’,” said a press release Sunday morning from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

Mea, 27, was arrested late Saturday night, just before midnight, and charged with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, Second Degree Criminal Exploitation of a Minor, and First Degree Criminal Exploitation of a Minor. Police found him as he arrived at Charleston International Airport.

Mea is a teacher at Palmetto Scholars Academy.

“Mea was aware of the victim’s age and continued to demand that the victim send additional photos, or he would post the pictures of her nudity on social media if she didn’t. This information was discovered during a criminal investigation conducted by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina ICAC Task Force.,” said the press release.

He faces A $125,000 bond.
