The South Carolina boys and girls teams beat North Carolina in the Carolinas All-Star Basketball Classic Saturday at Socastee High School.
The S.C. boys won 114-91 on the strength of big performances from two Pee Dee stars. Darlington’s Frankie Johnson scored 14 points including four 3s to earn team MVP honors. West Florence’s Cartier Diarra had 15 points and seven rebounds.
Sumter’s Jessica Harris scored 16 points with seven steals to earn team MVP honors for the S.C. girls, who won 78-77.
