Six bills were ratified this past week at the South Carolina Statehouse.
That brings the total number of bills that passed both the House and Senate this calendar year to seven.
Among those that were ratified Thursday (2/11) was a bill that clarifies, among other things, when a person’s criminal history (including warrants, booking reports and mug shots) shall be destroyed if the charges against them were lessened or dropped.
Another ratified bill that will head to Gov. Haley will require manufactured housing dealers have an authorized or licensed dealer/salesperson on site. Among the sponsors of that bill are Representatives Mike Ryhal (R-Carolina Forest) and the Rev. Carl Anderson (D-Georgetown).

In addition to the six new, ratified bills, the South Carolina Senate gave eight bills key second readings.
All eight got unanimous approval.
The South Carolina House passed 17 bills/resolutions last week and rejected one.
The bill that was killed would have provided retired members of the General Assembly two special license plates that include the same imprinted seal issued to current state lawmakers.
The House killed the bill by a 56-39 vote.
Among the House bills that went to the Senate last week are one that will permit mobile barbershops and another that concerns the boundaries of the Murrells Inlet-Garden City fire district.
All 17 bills are now in senate committees.
The House will not be in session this week.
House Speaker Jay Lucas (R-Hartsville) says the furloughed week will save taxpayers approximately $77,000.
This will mean three weeks off during the current season.
Previously scheduled weeks include the weeks of March 28h and April 4.
