CHARLESTON, S.C.  — The Charleston Police Department arrested a Berkeley County School District bus driver on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Kevin Michael Wesley Jr., 30, of Charleston, is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and criminal sexual conduct with a minor, third degree. He’s currently held in the Al Cannon Detention Center where a bond hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, September 29.

According to police spokesman Charles Francis, Wesley met the juvenile while he was a driver on her bus route. The following year when she was no longer on his route, between September 2015 and December 2015, he continued to keep in contact with her. It was during this time he met her in his West Ashley apartment and engaged in the criminal act. She eventually told her mother about the relationship.
