SC ranks 3rd on list of states with worst drivers

A new study says South Carolina has some of the worst drivers in the country.

CarInsuranceComparison.com ranked the Palmetto State as 3rd on the list of states with the worst drivers.

The website says it used information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to determine a list of America’s worst drivers by state.

They used information from the NHTSA that focused on fatal car crashes and their causes.

The study says compared to any other state, South Carolina had the most fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled. The state also ranked 7th in both speeding and careless driving.

In the same study last year, the website says SC drivers came in 2nd.

Texas and Louisiana tied for 1st for having the worst drivers.

North Carolina ranked 12th.

Georgia drivers fared much better, coming in 36th.
