GREENVILLE, SC – The pastor of Labor of the Fields churches in Anderson and Iva is in a coma after a motorcycle crash Saturday that killed his wife.
According to our coverage partners at the Independent Mail, Tyus Butler is in a medically induced coma from his injuries in Saturday’s crash.
The assistant pastor of the church, Vernonn Bagwell, told the Independent Mail that Butler has a head injury and multiple broken bones.
The crash happened just before 5:20pm on Highway 418 while they were participating in a “Look Twice, Save A Life” motorcycle safety event. 45-year-old Anita Butler died at the scene.
The Motorcycle Awareness Alliance posted a memorial for the couple on their Facebook page.
Both Tyus and Anita were wearing helmets during the crash, according to Highway Patrol.
