NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C  — A North Charleston police officer fired over wearing Confederate flag boxers and posting the picture on social media is now suing the city.

According to court documents, Sergeant Shannon Dildine is claiming wrongful termination and termination based on race.READ THE COURT DOCUMENTS HERE

The photo was apparently posted five days after the Mother Emanuel shooting on June 22, 2015.

Chief Eddie Driggers wrote Dildine a letter about his termination and the picture saying, “It will compromise any criminal cases involving minorities with which you might be associated.”
