Police reported the child was wearing a dirty t-shirt and no diaper. The boy also appeared to be covered in feces, with an open wound on his ankle and road rash on his buttocks.

They say the child’s mother, 22-year-old Lenzie Ezell, was inside sleeping. An inspection of the home showed the back door was open, with glass on the floor inside. Officers also reported seeing more feces and pills covering the floors in every room. There was also no food or drink in the home.

The child was taken to the hospital to be checked out, and will be transferred into the custody of the Department of Social Services.

Ezell is now charged with child neglect. She is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
