MAULDIN, S.C. – The Greenville County School District sent a letter to parents of students at Mauldin Middle School letting them know that a teacher who has been indicted on child porn charges took pictures of more than 140 students.
Daniel Ray Archer, 56, of Simpsonville was indicted on Possession of Child Pornography and Distribution of Child Pornography in March. Archer was a gym teacher at the middle school.
District officials say Archer took photographs of 149 students at different events and school functions between August 2007 and December 2014.
Spokesman Oby Lyles tells us the pictures, which were found by law enforcement, are of fully clothed students and that none of the photographs are pornographic in nature.
Archer allegedly traded the pictures for pornographic images, the letter to parents states.
Lyles adds that if you did not receive a personal letter, your child was not photographed.
