MAULDIN, SC – After a 14-year-old former Mauldin Middle School Football player suffered a brain hemorrhage last summer, he needs help getting special treatment in California.

Doctors say Isaiah Custodio was born with a defect in his veins, causing a brain hemorrhage during football practice in September.

Now, Isaiah’s mental and physical abilities are limited.

Isaiah’s mother says they’re flying to California on Saturday to get Isaiah proper treatment from some of the best specialized doctors and physical therapists in the nation.

Christina Custodio says in order to make the trip and receive special therapy and radiation will cost about $10,000.

“The therapy itself is pretty expensive it’s about 250 dollars an hour, and we’re looking between 4-6 hours each day,” says Isaiah’s mother, Christina Custodio.

His family set up a go-fund-me page for anyone who would like to help Isaiah get the care he needs in hopes of someday, being able to run again.

Custodio says doctors hope to get Isaiah back to 100% with the right therapy.Click here to donate to Isaiah’s Go Fund Me page
