EASLEY, SC –  An Easley man and his loyalty to five numbers finally paid off.

The man played the same numbers – 2, 7, 13, 17 and 30 – for seven years and they finally are worth $100,000. The South Carolina Education Lottery says the unnamed man won the money playing Palmetto Cash 5.

The big winner handpicked those numbers, but admits “they were meaningless.” That wasn’t true after the drawing on October 24. When he saw those numbers come up at last, he knew he was finally a winner.

And he remains attached to the numbers, saying he’ll never change them. The winning ticket was purchased at Dacusville Farmers Market Inc. in Easley.
