SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A 42-year-old man is under arrest after deputies say he rammed his wife’s vehicle with her and the kids inside.
Charles Ray Oliver and his wife got into an argument at their home on Fripp Drive, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s office.
When deputies responded to their home, Oliver told them that they had a verbal argument and it never became physical.
Oliver then told deputies that he had warrants and he wanted to go back to Louisiana, reports say.
Deputies determined that there weren’t any warrants against him and there were no signs of physical injuries to either person, so Oliver wasn’t arrested.
A few hours later, deputies were dispatched back to the home because of reports that Oliver was ramming the victim’s vehicle with his truck, reports say.
When deputies arrived a second time, Oliver immediately lay down and put his hands behind his back, deputies say.
Oliver was placed in the patrol car as deputies spoke with the victim.
She told deputies that she was parked in front of her house and before she and her kids could exit her vehicle, Oliver came down the road at a high rate of speed and began ramming her vehicle.
The victim and the children were able to get out of the car and run across the street to a friend’s house, deputies say.
Since Oliver was ramming the vehicle with the victim and their children inside, a judge issued warrants for domestic violence first-degree and two counts of assault and battery second-degree.
