ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. – Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man for attempted murder after investigators say he rammed a car repeatedly on a road.
Jason Freedom Reid, 37, faces two counts of attempted murder against two people who were driving early in the morning of January 31 from Greenville County toward Pelzer.
ACSO investigators say Reid was driving a Honda that repeatedly hit a man and a woman from behind who were traveling in another Honda on Lebby Street.
Deputies say Reid hit their car again on Palmetto Road and their car went off the road before striking a tree.
Reid and an unknown man tried to get the male victim out of the crashed car, but then left the scene.
ACSO investigators say tips led to Reid being identified as the suspect. He was arrested Saturday in Pelzer. Reid is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on $150,000 bond.
Deputies say they are still investigating to find the other man who was with Reid at the time of the road incident.
