SC man arrested on theft charges; deputies discover drugs, weapons, alligator

LADSON, S.C.  — Deputies received a tip that Robert Lee Moore, 29, who was wanted for receiving stolen goods, was at an address on Atlanta Road in Ladson.

Deputies found Moore at the residence, hiding under a bed. On top of the bed was an AR-15 style rifle with an obliterated serial number. Once Moore was taken into custody, a search warrant was obtained for the residence. The search resulted in two additional stolen firearms being located along with a tablet computer. Those were a Taurus P22 pistol that was stolen from a Berkeley County address and a shotgun was stolen from Florida. The AR-15 was stolen from North Charleston. The tablet computer was stolen from St. Louis, Missouri. The search also yielded 13 gross grams of methamphetamines, a stolen motorcycle and an alligator.

The detectives contacted DNR-Law Enforcement to assist with the 2 ½ foot alligator that was in an aquarium tank.

Moore was booked into the Hill Finklea Detention center on the existing warrants relating to stolen goods. Additional charges have been filed with more to follow for Moore’s activities. He is being held on four surety bonds totaling $52,125.
