A naked, unarmed man who was fatally shot by a suburban Atlanta police officer will be laid to rest in South Carolina.
Attorneys for the family of 27-year-old Anthony Hill say a viewing begins at 3 p.m. Saturday at Gethers Funeral Home in Moncks Corner, where he grew up.
Hill was fatally shot by a DeKalb County, Georgia police officer responding to calls about a naked man acting erratically outside a suburban Atlanta apartment complex on Monday.
Hill graduated from Berkeley High School back in 2006, where he was a student athlete. His mother currently works at the school.
Hill also attended the University of South Carolina and was in the Air Force for 4 years before being medically discharged. It’s not clear when Hill moved to Atlanta.
Hill’s girlfriend told The Associated Press that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and stopped taking his medication.
The family’s attorney says Hill’s funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Berkeley High School auditorium, also in Moncks Corner.
