BAMBERG, SC – A Bamberg County fire official is in jail after being accused of shooting at two women.

Brenna Ayers Hancock, 37, is charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder.

A Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said Hancock used an assault rifle to shoot at 2 women.

The Times and Democrat newspaper reports Ayers used an AR-15 to shoot at her lover’s wife. The newspaper reported SLED stating Ayers tried to kill a 65-year-old woman and her 35-year-old daughter.

The victim says she was searching for her husband when she came to Hancock’s home.

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is handling the case because Hancock is a Bamberg County Fire Coordinator.
