GREENVILLE, SC – Sonja Jones and Juanita Cummings still remember the day their grandmother Ruby Flamm was found shot to death in her Greenville home on Colonial Avenue.

“My cousin told me grandma’s dead and I just lost it,” Jones said. “It was just unbelievable.”

Deputies say the 75-year-old had at least one gunshot wound when she was discovered around 5:00 a.m.

“It was just a cowardly move and I still can’t wrap my head around it,” said Jones.

The cousins say the pain stings even more as this tragedy unfolded during the holidays. Their family spent thanksgiving at Flamm’s home.

“You can’t describe her other than I mean – wonderful,” said Cummings. “She was a blessing to anyone she came in contact with.”

Cummings says Flamm was always there to help anyone who needed it and was a significant part of the community, and their family. They’re asking anyone with information to come forward.

It’s not fair and it’s not right,” Cummings said. “Somebody needs to have the courage to help make it right.”

There’s a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest. If you know anything that could help solve the case call Crime Stoppers at 23-Crime.
