GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. – Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office say Pinecrest Elementary School students have been charged for carrying BB guns onto a school bus using them to shoot at other students and the bus driver.

Police were called to the school to investigate the incident and to assist the principal, Susan Buchanan, in handling one of the students who had been suspended from school already.

Officials say the student was suspended for pushing his teacher, threatening his teacher and saying that he was going to shoot police officers.

Reports say the school nurse checked out the students that were shot and they were not injured.

The students have been charged as juveniles for Carrying a Weapon on School Property and for Assault and Battery 3rd Degree, according to police reports.
