SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — A Summerville man is behind bars, accused of punching a Dorchester County deputy in the face while he was intoxicated.

Brandon Myers, 32, is charged with assault of a high and aggravated nature and resisting arrest.

According to an incident report, two deputies responded to Old Fort Estates around 11:30 Saturday night for a disturbance. We’re told deputies found Myers naked, confused and drunk.

His roommate asked authorities to help get Myers back inside. Without warning, he punched Corporal Joshua Cerone on in the face then tried to run. Myers continued to resist so he was tased several times, according to the report.

Authorities say Cerone was taken to Summerville Medical for the treatment of facial fractures. He had surgery and is at home recovering.

Myers was taken to the hospital for evaluation, as well.

He’s now in jail on a $125,000 bond.
