SC Democrats host party’s candidates for Charleston debate

CHARLESTON, SC (AP) – South Carolina Democrats vote in just over a month on which candidate they want as the party’s presidential nominee, and the people who want that job are gathering for a debate.

On Sunday, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley are participating in a debate at the Gaillard Center in downtown Charleston.

The debate is hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus and the South Carolina Democratic Party. It’s sponsored by NBC and YouTube, and “Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt is moderating.

The debate comes just three days after the GOP presidential contenders held their own debate in nearby North Charleston.
